Always ready with a hug or a smile Terry is responsible for the overall running of the Community Centre. His 27 years as a bank manager has certainly prepared him for the task of keeping all those clients, staff, and volunteers happy! Hence the emphasis on hugs. Terry first became part of Balmoral Uniting Community Centre 10 years ago as Transport Coordinator, already with more then ten years experience working with frail people and younger people with disabilities – just the kind of guy you want looking out for you.
Anne originally began as the Office Administrator yet with her personal and caring touch has stepped into the HACC co-ordiantor position taking on new clients and making sure they have access to the right services and activities. Anne always manages to have a laugh and a chat with those attending the Centre yet also weilds a mysterious ability that fixes printer jams and frozen computer programs alike.
Managing the needs and productive capacity of over 60 volunteers takes a lot of time, organisation, and an ability to be not surprised by anything out of the ordinary. Working closely, Lynne and Sue recruit, train and assign volunteers to the different groups within Balmoral Uniting Community Centre; while Sue as Community Life program coordinator recruits and trains volunteers to visit those in the community who are lonely, frail, isolated, or disabled, and encourage them to get re-involved in their community.
Rhonda and Beryl use their years of experience and understanding of individuals with diverse needs to coordinate the many small social groups that populate Balmoral Uniting Community Centre’s programs.
she’ll set you straight
Will make yours into happy feet!
Some say he appeared one day after strange lights were seen in the sky, others say he walked out of a mountain cave and sleeps standing on his head. No one knows, yet he does answer the phone quite well and makes a mean pot of coffee so we decided to keep him.
